If you recall, I experienced a “No Sim card Installed” error on my new Iphone 4 a few months back -

The no sim card installed error just started when I was checking my email in the mall around July of this year. A few resets/restarts to the phone did the trick in the beginning. Another trick to get rid of the dumb no sim card installed error is to go to your phone settings and move the slider for Airplane Mode to On, wait a few seconds and then switch it back to OFF. The issue became more prevalent over time and I had to remove and reinsert the sim card to get the no sim card error to go away.
Finally one day around August, no matter what I did, I could not fix the error. Luckily I live next to the mall which has an Apple store. I walked straight to the back of the store and talked with one of the the Apple “genius” there. He said he had the same issue with his phone too and that it just started happening for no apparent reason. He said to just head over to the Att store in the front of the mall and get the sim card replaced – that’s what he did for his phone apparently. Getting a new SIM card was quite easy – I just explained what was wrong and 5 minutes later, I walk out with a working Iphone with a new Sim card installed. I thought that’s that and never needed to worry about it again. Wrong! Last week I started getting the same No SIM CARD INSTALLED error again.
I tried explaining it to the apple people again, but they just told me to get another new SIM card. When I explained that this was the second time to the ATT people, they told me to go to the Apple store. GG.
